Message Also, I didn't mention it before, but I do think that the z is a MUCH better looking car than the EVO will ever be, but I guess that is subjective.

As far as dollars are concerned neither of the cars is really old enough to be in collector status yet. But 240Z's in very good original condition are getting more than 5 times their original sales prices. I don't think you could give away a mid 70's Supra. The 240Z though is a 35 year old car, the prices however only began to really rise a few years ago. Not sure if it was the fact that the 350Z came out or the fact that at 30+ years old the number of early Z cars that were in collectable condition was diminishing fast. Its probably a combination of the 2, and the fact that guys who were old enough to want one in the 70's but not yet able to afford one, now had liquid $$ to make the dreams of their youth a reality, kind of like the muscle car thing. I think the same will happen to the Z32 in 15 to 20 years, when truly good examples are few, they will sell for multiples of original sticker, but I also believe that the truly valuable ones will be in stock form with no "upgrades". Mods will always detract from collectablity, no matter how tastefully executed they are. I thought your Z was beautiful, and I'm sorry you feel you didn't get out of it what you put in. I would imagine that you could've gotten nearly as much, or more for it, had you done nothing but keep the car in excellent stock condition. But the question than becomes, would YOU have enjoyed it as much, and would it have been as valuable to YOU?

Regards, Barry
